The goal of the web site is to provide access to a range of products for sale and delivery to anywhere in Australia, and internationally.

To ensure a safe environment for all users, we have established these Terms and Conditions. In this way, you will know what you can expect from us, and what we can expect from you. By accessing any areas of thesilkbazaar.com.au you agree to be legally bound and to abide by the terms set forth below.

The products items offered on thesilkbazaar.com.au are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. We reserve the right to refuse to accept an order request in whole or in part. We will process your order once you have registered and we have received your payment details. An e-mail confirmation of our acceptance of the order will be forwarded to you.

The prices quoted on thesilkbazaar.com.au are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are fully inclusive of government taxes (GST).

The Dyes:

Hand dying is an organic process.  The colours that are used will not match 100% your colour but will be as close as possible to achieve at that given time.  The dyes work in often unpredicatable ways, you may get colour overlay, colours in other areas and special patterns – these are natural parts of the organic process. 

Custom Work

Custom work is undertaken once the client has read the information in the 'Information on Custom Work' documentation and completed the custom work form on the website.

There are no refunds on any custom work. Custom Work is completed based on a particular customer , and is specific to them alone.  These items will not be accepted back as they are not standard stocked and sellable items.

Shipping Times:

Made-to-order, special ordered, and not in stock silk items have a delivery time of anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. The reasons for delivery estimates vary, but some common factors are delays in production schedules on certain styles, fabric availability, delays in shipping etc.BELOW IS AN ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME TABLE TO HELP YOU IN PLANNING APPROPRIATELY.

Silk Veils: Average delivery 1-3 weeks

Children’s Product: Average delivery 1-3 weeks.

Fashion, Scarves & Clothing: Average delivery 1-3 weeks

Custom sized garments : Average delivery 2-6 weeks

Bedding and Home Décor : Average delivery 2-6 weeks

Interior Design Fabrics : Average delivery 3-6 weeks

We do our best to provide accurate size information. Please pay careful attention to the measurements given in the size chart. As styles can vary greatly, there may be some variability from the size chart. The general recommendation is to order based on your largest matching measurement.


Colours on websites vary by photos and by monitors. We are unable to verify website photo colours due to these factors. In some cases we may be able to provide guidance, but guidance is our opinion based on how images appear on our monitors and should not be considered a guarantee. We recommend you view an actual swatch of the colour you wish to order, if your requirements are extremely exacting. Dye lots can result in colour variations and are not considered a defect. There can be variability between dye lots for any item. The manufacturer, does not guarantee there will not be variability in dye lots. In the case of ordering for Special Events or Group Costuming, all should be ordered at once to ensure items are from the same dye lot. Silk fabrics of different WEAVES and WEIGHTS but the same color may show variation in color depth, brightness, and feel. Further, fabric variations between styles can give a different appearance to color. No returns are accepted on dye lot variations except in the case where multiple pieces of a style are ordered at the same time.  Colours will be as close as possilbe to your desired colour.  Exact colour matching is not possilbe due to different dye lots.  Being individually hand dyed, you will find unique characteristics that make it a one of a kind, no two pieces are the same. Beauty spots, freckles and spots within the colours are a part of the hand dying process and further individualise your silk.


Prices subject to change without notice. All prices are in AUD. As we are not currency experts, we cannot quote prices in other currencies. I suggest www.xe.com for an estimate.

Authenticity Guarantee:

You are guaranteed to receive brand new merchandise - authentic handcrafted silk products as advertised. All silks are produced directly by my supplier - the designer and manufacturer. We do sell clearance items, discounted defect items, and product overruns. These items are sold as stated and accepted as expected as such by you, the buyer and may not be returned.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations on standard delivery orders are accepted within 3 days of order without penalty. No cancellations are permitted on standard orders after 3 days. NO CANCELLATIONS ARE ACCEPTED FOR RUSHED ORDERS. All cancellation requests must be made via email. No cancellations will be honored over the phone. To cancel an order, please send an email detailing the transaction to info@thesilkbazaar.com.au This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .If the order has not been shipped, the order will immediately be cancelled with no penalty. If the order has been shipped, the guidelines for an unwanted return will be followed (see refund policy).

Return Policy:

Unfortunately, due to the nature of special occasion attire and our low prices, we highly discourage returns. However, if you receive your item and it is not what you ordered or we described, we will take the necessary steps to rectify our mistake or you are entitled to a return or an exchange. The Silk Bazaar offers a fourteen (14) day money back guarantee on all of our products. If the product does not conform to our specification in any way, or is defective, please contact us via email. Products can only be returned unused. Shipping costs to the Silk Bazaar will be the responsibility of the customer. We will ship at our cost to you the replacement if the product is defective. If exchange is required shipping is the responsibility of the client.

Payment Policy:

All payment must be in AUD. For international buyers paying with Paypal, your issuer will make the currency conversion for you.

We accept the following payment methods:

3. Credit Card

Credit card payments will incur a 2% surcharge. Credit card reversal payments will incur a 4% surcharge.

Payment must be received prior to shipping.

Shipping and Fees Policy:

The Silk Bazaar offers deliveries to most major areas of Australia, and internationally. A delivery is interpreted as an attempted delivery by us. We do not accept liability for delay in the event there is no-one to receive the delivery at the delivery address. All items purchased from The Silk Bazaar are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier. If the delivery details given by you are incorrect, and thus affecting delivery we may have to charge an additional delivery charge.

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping methods have an estimated delivery time once we ship to you. If you need an item more quickly than our standard estimated ship times, please discuss this with us prior to ordering and we will let you know if we can accommodate your request.
